SILVERCEL Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing is a sterile, non-woven pad composed of high tensile strength alginate, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and silver coated fibers. SILVERCEL Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing contains elemental silver (8%) as a sustained release formulation. The sustained release of silver ions from SILVERCEL Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing combats bacterial and fungal growth and may help reduce infection in the wound. The alginate of SILVERCEL Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing forms a gel for the absorption and management of moderate to large volumes of exudate. When moist, SILVERCEL Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing is conformable to fit the shape and size of the wound.
