Product Description

Mesalt is made of an absorbent, viscose/polyester nonwoven impregnated with sodium chloride.

The exudate from the wound releases the sodium chloride from the dressing. Mesalt stimulates the cleansing of heavily draining and discharging wounds in the inflammatory phase by absorbing exudate, bacteria and necrotic material from the wound, thereby facilitating the natural wound healing process. It creates a hypertonic wound environment which is unfavorable to micro-organisms. Mesalt maintains its integrity even when fully saturated.

Mesalt is intended for the management of heavily discharging and infected wounds in the inflammatory phase and deep cavity wounds such as pressure ulcers and surgical wounds. Mesalt is not to be used on low exuding or dry wounds.
